Sports Recap: The Thunder had a busy schedule over the President’s Day weekend. Games played on Friday included a loss for the for the girls against Herreid/Selby 52-43 while the boys walked off the court with a win against Tiospaye Topa 66-42. Saturday, they traveled to Mellette where the girls came home with a win 37-29 while the boys ended their night against Northwestern with a loss 45-40. The Thunder BBB competed against Wakpala yesterday and ended the game with a loss 78-72.

**March 16 – CHS River Plains Scholarship – (10) $1,000 – Seniors – Parent or guardian must be a current patronage eligible customer of CHS River Plains. See Mrs. Mettler for an application.
**Local Scholarships - Seniors – Applications are located on the Eureka School Website. Go to Menu, then Documents, next Resources, and then Local Scholarships. All local scholarships get turned into Mrs. Mettler. Due Friday, March 20, 2026.
**March 21 – South Dakota Youth Trooper Academy – Seniors – Sponsored by the SD Highway Patrol – June 22-26, 2026. It is in Pierre, SD. See Mrs. Mettler if interested.
Must be postmarked by Friday, March 27, WEB Water Scholarship – Seniors – 3-$1,000 will be awarded – Available to those whose parents or guardians are members of WEB Water – See Mrs. Mettler with any questions.
**April 1 – USA Softball Scholarship – Seniors – Must have participated in the USA Softball of SD for at least 3 years – see Mrs. Mettler for an application
** April 1 – Donald H. Quimby Memorial Scholarship - $350 – Seniors – Must be attending a SD post-secondary institution. See Mrs. Mettler for an application.
**April 1 – Day County Coyote Hunt Scholarship - $2,000 – Seniors – must be attending a college, university, or technical college and have an immediate family member (parent, stepparent, grandparent, sibling) of a current soldier or Veteran of the Armed Forces.
**April 30, 2025 – Aberdeen Home Builders Association Scholarship – Seniors – Must attend an accredited SD college, university, technical, or community college and be entering the building trades field of study. See Mrs. Mettler for more information.
