The SDMEA Elementary Festival Choir was held on Monday, March 2, 2026. This event takes place at seven different sites across South Dakota, and our students attended the Mobridge location.
Students from Mobridge, Sully Buttes, Herreid, Lemmon, Hoven, Aberdeen Central, and Eureka gathered at the Edge Event Center in Mobridge for a full day of music. The festival was led by guest conductor Lindsey Torgerson, choir director at Rapid City Central High School.
Rehearsals began at 10:00 a.m., with students working throughout the day to prepare their music under Torgerson’s direction. The day concluded with a public concert at 4:00 p.m., where the combined choir performed the selections they had practiced together.
The festival provided students with the opportunity to collaborate with singers from neighboring schools, learn from a guest conductor, and share their talents with the community.
