🎤Eureka Students Participate in SDMEA Elementary Honor Choir🎤
Vanessa, Cohen, and Sadie participated in the SDMEA Elementary Honor Choir event held this past weekend in Sioux Falls, SD. These three students auditioned last spring and were selected to sing in a 130-piece choir consisting of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders from across the state. Their guest conductor was Greg Gilpin, a well-known composer, arranger, and highly respected choral conductor.

Last weekend, four students represented Eureka High School at the All-State Chorus and Orchestra held in Sioux Falls, SD. Over two days, they participated in intensive rehearsals to perfect their concert selections. The event culminated in a breathtaking performance at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center at 7:00 p.m.
In addition to the outstanding student representation, the Eureka Music Department was honored with a plaque for Exemplary Participation in Music. This recognition is awarded based on the percentage of students involved in music programs in grades 9–12. Currently, an impressive 89% of Eureka High School students participate in band and/or chorus.

Congratulations to the girls volleyball team last night on their victory over Faulkton in 4 sets. With that victory, we will be playing against Herreid/Selby Area on Thursday at 7:00 PM in Selby. Good morning. Here are a couple of basketball changes. Friday's Middle School Girls basketball games in Roscoe against Ipswich will be played at 4:00 and 5:00 PM. Also, the basketball double header with Timber Lake scheduled on Tuesday, December 30th has been moved to Saturday, January 31 in Timber Lake. Go Thunder!

On Monday, November 10th at 7:00 PM, we are hosting a Financial Aid Night for juniors, seniors, and their parents. Mapping your future is a live remote financial aid session where they help students and families navigate the higher education and student loan process. Good morning. On Tuesday, November 11th, school will be dismissed at 11:30 AM. The Veteran's Day Program starts at 10:00 AM. Following the program there will be a free-will offering meal provided by FCCLA and FCA for the community. We will not be having any normal school lunch offered that day, however, the free will offering meal is for everybody. We will get more information out in the near future, I just wanted to make everyone aware of the school dismissal at 11:30 AM that day. Thank you.
This school year the Makerspace has been a happening place for the Kindergarten through 6th grade students! What is Makerspace? It is a collaborative workplace for students to create, invent, tinker, and learn.
Our first project this year was, designing and creating a tree house using toilet paper rolls, construction paper, yarn, popsicle sticks, tape, cups, hot glue, and straws. Next, the kids used 3D pens to create a Halloween project - ghost, jack-o-lantern, bat, spider, skeleton.
Currently they are working with squishy circuits. When using squishy circuits, they have to use conductive and insulating play-doh to create a circuit using lights, beepers, and vibration boxes.
