Cross Country competed in Hoven yesterday. Thunder athletes did very well with the following results: MS- Drew Arbach 2nd, Aaron Ingerson 3rd, Jason Arbach 6th, and Noah Ingerson 7th place. Varsity girls Kassandra Abbas 19th place and boys Varsity Avery Wells placed 30th.
Homecoming is next week. The theme for Homecoming on Sept. 12-16 is Fairy Tales. Dress-Up Days are as follows: Monday – Decades/Thrift Shop Day; Tuesday – Celebrity/Meme/Disney Day; Wednesday – Pajama/Anything but a Backpack Day; Thursday – Netflix/Heroes & Villains Day; & Friday – Thunder/Signing Day

This week two groups of students started out their science exploration with the use of microscopes. The two groups included the 7th grade students as well as Biology II.
For the 7th graders microscopes are a new piece of equipment that they have never used. They go through the different parts of the microscope and how to operate them. In 7th grade the slides are already focused for the students to save time. This year the 7th graders were lucky because we had many students absent the first day so each student had their own microscope. Additionally, the next day the students who had been absent also had their own microscopes for the lesson.
In Biology II the microscope activity was a little different. Being much more advanced students, they were expected to focus their own slides. Some found out they were a little rusty using microscopes. The biology students were looking at cell layer classifications as well as cell shape classifications.
Some of the Kindergartners are excitedly looking through the Zoobook magazines in the library.
The Mobridge/Pollock Tigers are coming to Eureka tonight to take on the North Central Thunder in volleyball starting at 4:00 PM. Here is a link to watch the game. http://play.keemotion.com/417/6624/0/4QNkJm.html

Football athletes traveled to Ipswich yesterday and ended their games with a loss for the 6th/7th grade Thunder team, a win for the 8th grade participants and a loss for the JV team.

Results from the Cross-Country meet at Redfield are as follows: MS Boys- Jason Arbach 8th; JV Boys- Aaron Ingerson 20th, Drew Arbach 26th, Avery Wells 28th, and Noah Ingerson 51st. Girls Varsity- Kassandra Abbas 48th.
Volleyball last night ended in a loss for both JV & Varsity matches against Faulkton.
